This project revolves around pixel patterns by the artist Konstantin Antonov, known as TheLocalGenius.com — one of the earliest members of our group.

For many years, Kostya created a vast, ever-growing universe of pixel canvases, and we used his prints everywhere: clothing, vinyl wraps for cars, wallpaper for the studio, ceilings, installations — anything that could be covered, we covered.

But the real charm isn’t in how we used the prints.

It’s in how they were made. Kostya invented his own technique.
A secret technique. Which I, of course, will not reveal…Fine, I’ll reveal it.
You start with a file that’s 4×4 pixels.
You color those 4 pixels however you want, save the file enlarged to 16 pixels, and pass it to someone else in the group.

That person opens the now-16-pixel file, colors those pixels in their own way, saves it enlarged to 32 pixels, and passes it further.

And so the file travels in a circle — person to person — for an entire month.

Each iteration doubles the resolution, and each artist injects their own memories, humor, associations, and micro-stories into the expanding grid.

By the end, the file becomes a massive 6000×6000 pixel print with insane detail — a deep, layered tapestry of our collective brain.

We used these final patterns for all sorts of things, including lightboxes.

At one point we even created a series of ten anniversary patterns — one for each year of our project’s history.

Each pattern was shaped by this same circular technique: passing the file around, embedding inside it everything we remembered from that year — projects, jokes, failures, absurdities, glitches, personal dramas, triumphant moments.

It became a kind of game — a ritual, really — a collaborative pixel diary we kept for ourselves, disguised as abstract art.
